Jan Neuharth, an attorney and avid equestrian, practiced law in Los Angeles before her love of horses drew her to the Virginia hunt country. She traded her suit and briefcase for boots and breeches and established Paper Chase Farms, one of the premier equestrian facilities of its kind.
Neuharth’s novels are set in Middleburg, VA, where she lives with husband, Joseph Keusch, professional horseman and former Joint Master of the Fairfax Hunt. While Jan Neuharth is quick to point out that her stories are pure fiction, she writes with an insider’s perspective, gathering inspiration from everyday life in the historic hunt country for the setting, plots, and characters in her novels.
A graduate of the University of Florida and Vanderbilt Law School, Neuharth serves on the boards of several non-profit, corporate, and community organizations, and is the Chair and CEO of the Freedom Forum, a nonpartisan foundation in Washington, DC dedicated to fostering First Amendment freedoms for all.
