I’m Esme Hightower, and I was on my way to receiving another much-needed five-star review so that I can become a full-fledged medium when I learned I was the prime suspect in a murder investigation. My client wanted me to locate a missing necklace. That should’ve been a piece of cake. However, it turns out the necklace wasn’t lost. A mystic stole it. A mystic who turns up dead shortly after I go to see her.

Even my ex-boyfriend/current wanna-be boyfriend, Chief Casanova, is doubtful of my story. If I don’t figure things out soon, I can forget about becoming a medium. I’ll be behind bars.
