Being blind has never hindered Rayna Castiq. She’s become adept at living her life around the major difference that would have set her apart. The headmaster of the Colarium Folding Academy doesn’t categorize her ability to blend in with the seeing as an achievement worthy of praise, to him, it’s worthy of a death sentence. To save face, he’ll throw her into the proverbial fire with the hopes she goes out in a flash of red light.
Flynn Monroe’s contractual obligation to Senior Colari Harris landed him in the middle of nowhere with a new band of delinquents. The CSS Garrote is a death sentence, one Flynn is trying to forestall. Every time he manages to fix a problem five more crop up, and it’s beginning to look as though the decades-old ship is under the attack of a saboteur. Add to his list of problems the unshakable feeling their new folder is hiding something, he simply needs to figure out what it is and if it’s one more thing that could kill them all.
