Emil Mikita is a highly visible Czech, and Devereaux, the November Man, is supposed to escort him to Paris. It is a simple task, except that Devereaux's arch-rival, Colonel Ready somehow becomes involved. Suddenly the defector is gone, and Devereaux is dead. Or is he?
