I don’t believe in the whole opposites attract mantra. From what I’ve seen in my job as a police officer, opposites means a whole lot of conflict and arguments.

Lelani and I are opposites but we never argue. She’s a free spirit, the type who never fully unpacks her suitcase.

She’s weaved in and out of my life for years and each time I wonder if I’m enough to keep her feet planted on the ground.
