The suspicious death of a beloved firefighter at Twistchapel's chili cook-off sends Zoey back into action!
By her 30th birthday, Zoey Foster thought she was too old to become a witch. She thought wrong.
To learn about her new powers, she will need the help of her familiar, Bart, who for unknown reasons has taken on the form of a cat only she can see.
Zoey was having a nice, typical day at Foster's Market. That is, until a familiar warlock dropped a soaking wet body onto the couch in her office!
After agreeing to help solve the case after going with the always handsome Detective Drake to the chili cook-off, Zoey think's she'll have a relaxing afternoon. Unfortunately for her, and the town, a favorite firefighter dies at the event. With Drake now needing to help out, he sends Zoey home.
Before she can make it to her car, however, an old friend shows up, requesting her help. He believes the firefighter was murdered, and only she can connect the dots.
Will Zoey be able to sift through all of the suspects and find the murderer before the event is over? Is the death of the firefighter related to the body that the warlock brought her? Will a certain chili cook understand she's just being friendly, and not trying to hit on him?
