Soph had come to expect the unexpected, but getting vanquished by a faery was still a genuine surprise.
Even more surprising was where he found himself.
Has he been sent on a mission to rescue the Brewer? Vampire, and all-round excellent maker of beer? Or is he just being screwed with because the fae are like that?
With more than enough on his plate, there's the issue of always looking the same. You can only look like a grumpy middle-aged man for so many years before people start to ask questions.
Revelations regarding the witches' plans for the future put Soph at a crossroads he has no wish to be at, but when did he ever have a choice?
Half the roads in the country have been dug up, there are more drones watching than ever before, roadblocks are manned by insane sentries, and the rationing has become extreme. Freedom Week is now in full effect—no power, no fuel, no electronics for a whole week. A sign of a brighter future, or something more sinister?
As the machinations of his Necro overlords push Soph ever closer to breaking point, his Necronote arrives at the worst possible time. Not that there is ever a good one.
Weary, battered, mentally unstable, and distraught about abandoning his family, Soph once again sets out to commit an atrocity.
Maybe this time his unseen masters will take pity on him and make the job an easy one…
